American Author Thesis Blog

As you undertake the extensive reading for the American Author Project, it is vital that you record your critical thinking process with a thesis log, similar to what you did during your reading of Song of Solomon.

Each week, before your first English class (Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on your block), you must post an update to a dedicated online journal, or blog, that records what you’ve read and how your ideas for the final paper are developing. Your post should include the following:

  1. what you read since your last post, specified with titles and page numbers
  2. a short plot summary of what you read in those pages
  3. an analysis of theme or style in which you develop ideas for your paper
  4. a response to the guiding prompt if there is one that week (sometimes there won’t be)
