For the Weekend: November 2–3
- Continue to revise your Moving Voices Narrative. I have shortened the minimum length of the stand-alone narrative from 1000 to 600 words (that’s two pages, double-spaced). Still, based on what we all observed during the reader’s theater presentations on Thursday and Friday, most of you need to do a shortened version for your scene script. Each scene should run 10 to 12 minutes, which gives each scene group member an average of 2 to 3 minutes of speaking time.
- There are still scene groups who have not emailed me a link to their scripts, which need to be posted online. Please look at the list of scene groups posted online. If there is no hyperlink to your scene group script, it means I have not received an email from your group which provides a url to your Google doc. (Some of you have only emailed it to Gina; please email it to me as well.) Refer to my instructions on how to set up a Google doc if you need them.
- Push forward with your IRP research. You should now be transitioning to Benchmark #8: Thesis Statement and Outline.
- Continue reading Song of Solomon and doing your thesis logs. You should be read to page 319 with 16 logs by next Tues./Wed. You need to finish the novel by next Thurs./Fri.
Remember, this is the last weekend to tie up loose academic threads from the first quarter. Your first quarter grade is based largely on the quality of and evidence of effort toward the following assignments:
Important: If any of the quarter’s three writing assignments is still missing on Monday, Nov. 5, you will earn a No Credit (NC) on your grade report for the quarter.
