Week 5: September 24–28

Monday: Students must turn in the complete draft of Writing Assignment #2: Personal Statement.
That means:

• The content is fully developed. Your essay has a beginning, middle, and end and reaches your target word count
• Typed and double-spaced
• The prompt to which you are responding is stated on the top
• Word count is stated at the top
• Properly paragraphed
• Proofread and spell-checked
• 6 stapled copies

HW for next class: Read the first chapter of Song of Solomon (to page 30).

Tues./Wed.: We take a reading quiz on the first chapter of Song of Solomon. The rest of class we spend in writing groups sharing and revising your Personal Statements.

HW for Thurs./Fri.: Read Chapter 2 of Song of Solomon (to page 55).

Thurs./Fri.: History and Literature will double up for presenting proposals on the Moving Voices Project.

HW over the weekend: Read Chapter 3 of Song of Solomon.
