Week 6: September 29–October 3

What’s Due

This is another crucial week for the Campaign Ad Project, during which you apply the findings of your focus group research to the creation of your campaign commercial.

On Monday (Lesson 14), your team’s Focus Group Research is due. The team must document at least five interviews with the Focus Group Interview Form and all interview notes attached.

Using the format of Socratic seminar, your team analyzes the Focus Group data in order to identify your proposition’s swing voter. This will enable you to target your campaign commercial on a demographic profile that you have a chance to sway.

In remaining workshop time, you begin the creative process of crafting a 30-second message directed to your target voter.

On Wednesday (Lesson 15), we take some time to continue our study of poetry through the literary eras. We learn how to apply the literary concept of tone to our poetic analysis. We also debrief the first presidential debate that occurred on Friday, 9/26.

On Thursday/Friday (Lesson 16), you have workshop time during the first period to complete your team’s Treatment Proposal, which is formally presented to class during our second period together.
