This is conference week, and because of the minimum days we have a special schedule. You see each of your core classes once, for an extended block of an hour and 50 minutes. Each day runs from 8:55 to 12:45. For logistical reasons having to do with sharing arts and language teachers with Lower House, the schedule goes in reverse order. You will see Language Arts according to the following schedule:
Tues | Wed | Thur | Fri |
---|---|---|---|
Electives 1 & 2 |
E Block | C Block | A Block |
Academic Seminar |
D Block | B Block | Play Performance |
We devote as much class time as possible this week to run-throughs of your Moving Voices scenes, in the theater whenever we can. Your scene group should come to Language Arts and Project Studio prepared with printed scripts for each group member, and an up-to-date annotated script for Gina and Justin, either printed or online. Whenever your group has workshop time or is “waiting in the wings” (there will be lots of that this week), you should practice your lines and staging. Timing is everything.
Thesis logs are due this week; bring them to class this week, organized and stapled. Remember, the quality of your last 4 to 6 entries can determine your whole grade, so put extra effort into them. Review last week’s tips on how to improve the quality of your thesis logs.
You are introduced to Writing Assignment #4: Song of Solomon Literary Analysis. The first step is a proposal of your thesis statement. This is due the Monday you get back from break (11/26).
